We Advise and Work with Elected Officials to Win Re-Election

STRATEGY PRACTICE

We work with elected officials to win re-election in increasingly competitive environments by strengthening current support and building new support in current, adjacent, and new markets through outreach and serving constituents well.

We advise and work with elected officials to recognize, understand, and respond to changes in political conditions, competition, and voter preferences by redesigning or fine-tuning their strategies.

Today, elected officials face fast paced, constantly changing, and increasing competitive environments. Changes in political conditions driven by the introduction of new and advanced technologies, shifting voter preferences and societal norms, increases in competition, and the emergence of micro niche voter segments are eroding value propositions and undermining political positions.

The frequency and speed with which incumbents are being overthrown has never been greater. Politicians are looking over their shoulders for the competition that may undermine their position, and many are aspiring to do just that.

The most formidable positioned elected officials can be vulnerable to change; commoditization, technological upheaval, shifting voter preferences and societal norms, and political and regulatory turmoil. Elected officials that have been in office for decades are struggling to compete or adjust.

Decisively changing course is the only way to survive. They must adapt to changes in political conditions and continually improve to maintain the attractiveness of their value proposition and competitiveness of their strategy.

Often elected officials become complacent. They fail to take notice or lose sight of voters changing preferences, they do not pay attention to competition or take them seriously, and forget what they are really good at. They do not adapt or fail to adapt quickly enough and let their competitive advantage erode.

They find themselves playing defense, calibrating their value proposition against what rivals offer, instead of basing it on what they do instinctively well. This leads to poor results which may become apparent more quickly in some political organizations than others.

We advise and work with elected officials to redesign and fine-tune their strategies to target opportunities that strengthen current and win new support in current, adjacent, and new voter segments. That re-establish a competitive position in their district.

We help them recognize changes in the political conditions and help them refocus their political organization and free up resources to support future activities. We work with them to refine who they are, what they are good at, and what makes them unique. We look at the landscape, the overall environment, and identify opportunities, unmet needs, that exist.

We take what we learn and redesign or fine-tune their strategy to respond to shifting consumer preferences and increased competition. We convert market requirements, organizational strengths, voter preferences, and our insights into well-informed, perceptive, dynamic, and indirect strategies that target opportunities based upon the strengths of the political organization.

Strategies that offer better, stronger value propositions and that define the specific voter segments to target, political solutions to offer, a distinct identity to present, message to convey, the capabilities needed, and a road map for getting there and continually improving.

Through our strategies our focus is to drive votes, increase donations, and grow volunteers, establish a reputation that strengthens name ID and builds voter loyalty, and aligns organization to focus operations and investment and maximize resources.

MANAGEMENT PRACTICE

Elected officials political organizations are being threatened, disrupted, and rendered obsolete by shifting voter preferences and they way they interact, share, and use information and by increased competition from competitors with higher caliber workforces and smarter, faster, more efficient, cost effective, and responsive operations.

Elected officials that have been in office for decades are struggling to survive. How their political organizations are designed to work, how work gets done, and how they are managed is outdated, inefficient, and can no longer consistently deliver the performance that is necessary to be competitive. They have fallen behind the capabilities of competitors and their operations no longer align with their strategy. They have 20th century operations for a 21st century world.

The introduction of new and advanced technologies are altering the expectations of voters and the way they interact with, share, and use technology. It is arming competitors with smarter, faster, more efficient, and cost effective operations that deliver better value and are more responsive to shifting voter preferences and societal norms.  Competitors are able to deliver messages to more people more effectively at a better value because they are cost efficient, faster, smarter, and more responsive to the changing desires and expectations of voters and how they interact with, share, and use your message in different ways.

We advise and work with elected officials to redesign how they work and how work gets done to align with strategy, fit the culture, and be smarter, better, faster, and more responsive. We redefine how they manage to encourage people to work in a different way that creates and delivers more value, lower costs, and to shrink the performance gap between them and their competitors.

We help them understand the root factors that are impacting the performance of the political organization. We take what we learn and redesign the political organization and layout the changes needed. We construct an intelligent design that spells out the fundamental building blocks of any political organization: the people, processes, infrastructure, and structure. We show how it all fits together and a step by step road map for getting there and continually improving.

We define new skills and capabilities needed, how to train, redeploy, and bring in new talent. Review and upgrades processes, digitizing and automating them where it makes sense. We install technologically advanced infrastructure necessary to be more efficient, accurate, faster, and easier to do business with, and fit-for-purpose organizational structure that spells out well defined responsibilities, properly empowered people, and a sound decision making framework.
